Stashbits: OS X 10.5.6 Making Progress & Fixes, iPod Firmware Updates

Since Apple launched Mobile Me in July, steady updates have given the Internet reliant service greater stability and much better integration with the devices information is synced to and from. The next upgrade is expected to arrive in a new a point update for Leopard, 10.5.6, which will also include over 90 bug fixes for various aspects of the Operating System. On the note of updates, Apple pushed out point updades for the newest iPod Nano and iPod Classic.
Mac OS X 10.5.6 In Testing
The latest seeds of Leopard have made their way to developers and is set to bring minor updates for Mac users running the latest cat upgrade from Apple. The most notable amongst the 90 plus fixes is improvements for Mobile Me which was plagued with syncing and outage issues during the first few weeks of its release.
While the upgrade path has been less than smooth, Apple has shifted its focus to improving sync times within the OS and this will be the focal point in the next minor update to Leopard. Apple is asking developers to test automatic syncing from slow, latent prone Internet connections and syncing behind a Firewall.
The latest seeded build of 10.5.6 (9G35) will also contain, amongst many other improvements, fixes for Multi Touch usability, USB device ejection and the FileSync Protocol. However, a rumor propagated by Kevin Rose concerning Blu Ray support in this looming update to Leopard has not come to fruition as any indication for Blu Ray playback is noticeably absent from the latest build.

Software Updates For The iPod Nano (4G) & iPod Classic (2G)
Continuing along the theme of updates, Apple rolled out minor Software updates for the newest iPod Nano and iPod Classic bringing them to version 1.0.3 and 2.0.1 respectively. These latest updates will be pushed to your iPod as soon as iTunes opens when they are connected.
Both updates bring support for Apple’s latest earbuds and in-ear headphones with remote and mic capabilities. Apple has fixed an issues when saving Genius playlists on the iPod Classic and several issues concerning stability with the Nike + Sport Kit and photo related issues when waking the Nano from sleep or disconnecting it from display a slideshow onto a TV.
