This Week In Apple Stash: Uninteresting First Post

When it comes to the weekends, no one really likes them for keeping tabs on tech news. Sure there is the whole argument “The Internet never sleeps so why should your Blog?” but the tradeoff is another work week of Blogging related injuries and reading goodies. To hold over your odd appetites for words here’s another part of your balanced diet, a weekly round up.
Apple Delays Push Notification
Announced during their developer conference in June, push notification which would emulate background processing on the iPhone by maintaining a constant connection to Apple’s servers and sending updates to corresponding Apps has missed its September debut. We reported that it was pulled before firmware 2.1 was seeded to Beta testers but failed to make an appearance once the Firmware was deemed stable. A response sent from Stevie J credits the lack of Push Notification to ongoing development in order to nail it right the first time.
Shop The Apple Store From iChat
Ok not really, but you can do the next best thing and talk to people shopping at the Apple Store. While you could shop the online store, pestering people to buy an iPod and ship it your home and delivering payment upon receiving it could be the next best thing. If you’re feeling lonely you could talk up over 200 Macs at a variety of Apple Stores and time zones. Don’t be sad when your pen pal doesn’t write back
Steve Jobs Not Dying Any Time Soon
The Blog-O-Sphere was swirling yesterday with reports of Steve Jobs suffering a heart attack. The false rumor was promptly denied by Apple but not before it shaved a few Billion dollars off of Apple’s market cap and causing individual stock prices to dip down to a 52 week low. The story was first propagated by iReport, a community driven news network owned by CNN and is being investigated by the SEC. Their claim is that the story was pushed to intentionally damage Apple’s stock but knowing the nature of community driven networks, false bits pop up now and then but whether or not a major enemy of the company had anything to do with it remains to be seen.
